PERCY JACKSON Season 2 Episode 8 Review

We finally got two seasons done. We've broken the movie adaptation curse situation. So now we're officially going into Season 3, which is very exciting for many reasons, but oh, season finale. Yeah. It's always an interesting feeling, covering something for so long, being with the community, the fandom, and then it being done. Months, months, months even.

0:40 Yeah, I love weekly releases. Screw binge releases. I love a good like that's fine and then I'll just wait until they're all released and then I'll binge it. Yeah, right. I like the idea of it weekly, but yeah. Yeah, but I love just like getting cozy and binging something real good. Although this has been so much fun, I just, you know, and the fact it's a well deserved season 3, yeah. I mean, they've just done such an incredible job of taking the work and bringing it to life. Yeah, we have. We'll talk about the end credit stuff and our expectations or predictions for Season 3. Of course I delete the spoiler alert for season 2, Season 1, the books, all of that. Let us officially take a bite of Percy Jackson and The Olympian Season 2 Episode 8. The Fleece works its magic too well. Directed by Catriona Mackenzie and written by Craig Silverstein. The Golden Trio arrive at camp to find it under attack by Luke and his giant army. Clarice gets crushed by her crush, Percy gets a visit from dear old dad, and shockingly, Annabeth's old ally might be Percy's enemy.

2:14 You know, so before we get into it, I did want to just point out that like I episode 7, I got the feeling that we're going to really diverge from the book. This whole finale was a huge departure from the book. I think a lot of it worked and some of it is interesting, interesting choices. But for the Season 2 as a whole, how did you feel? I think season 2's often have something to live up to, especially if it's a really successful season 1. But I really, really enjoyed season 2. I think we had all of kind of the really great adventure in this. We had the family drama in this. We introduced some new characters that we really came to love, IE Tyson. And I think that what was really special about this season was the emotional growth and kind of digging deeper into who these characters are instead of service level, introducing them and getting to know the world of the demigods. But this is now that we're situated, we get to know these characters even more.

3:12 So I think Season 2 really did its job in a number of ways. Yeah, I I agree. I think we did really get to know these characters more. They're growing, so we're getting to know some of the more mature. And I put that in quotes because I still think they're very much kids, but more of the mature themes that are going to be shown throughout the series. There was, I think a lot of things improved for season 1, but there is just something about this show where I'm like, not something's missing, but there's something that I'm like, it's like right on the precipice of being like amazing and epic. And while I do think that as a fan, I'm loving it and I'm enjoying everything, there's just something about it where I'm like, are they like, are they not sure where they're leaning like a little more younger or a little more older? Like sometimes I feel like there's tiptoeing around some of that.

3:59 And it is interesting with like a young adult kind of focus series, but it's a middle grade book. So I don't know, I think there's something maybe I'm just a little older from these books and I'm like, oh, I'm seeing some of the like kind of juvenile, sure nature of it. But like that's not a bad thing. I'm just curious to see like especially season 3 gets a lot more like intense. I'm curious how much they're going to lead into that. But that's my loved it. But I'm curious how they're going to keep toeing the line between those. And I think it is a delicate balance. And I think that I, I would be interested to know if they are having those conversations in the writers room because, you know, who is this for? You know, I think so many fans of Percy Jackson grew up with the books, but now we're fully adults. So how do you honor both the source material and the kind of audience that grew up with it?

4:51 And so, you know, maybe that's where they're holding back in some ways and pushing forward in other ways. And like you said, they still are young characters, right? So it's only their second summer together. I mean, in the books, right? They're probably 13. I think they've aged them up a little bit here, but yeah, I think it's definitely a balance that, you know, I don't know, maybe they haven't really found it yet. When the books came out, what, 2 decades ago? So it's a lot of the original fans are grown up. So how does that translate into who is this for? I mean, it's good to make it for a younger audience, but is that going to really be? I don't know, make sure the show continues to get seasons. Does that make sense?

5:32 So I'm not saying they need to age it up, but it's going to be interesting to see how they adapt to that. So you more worried about the fact if it breeds younger then it won't keep going I. Do I do? Because I think while there is a lot of Percy Jackson fans, I think the studios don't see it that way. The studios need to see numbers. And so, and I don't mean to like start it off this way. And like I said, a negative note, but I, I'm just curious because I, I do know that there has been numbers that came out that said like season 2 didn't have as much viewership as season 1. And I'm, I'm just curious on why that is. We're getting season 3. So who cares? But I'm really waiting for that season 4. I hope they do Season 4 and Season 5 announcement at the same time. Do what they did with Avatar and be like we're just going to finish the the series.

6:16 I hope they do that, yeah. That would be great because I mean, I've said it before, I would really love to see this through the end to for this full five book arc here. And you know, when I think about some of the scenes, you know, I feel like in the books, Grover being dressed as a bride was like such a joke, right? And so did that. Did it have the same effect in the show? Maybe not. Not that it wasn't a joke, but it was kind. Of you can speak for yourself, OK? Were you laughing so much? I was so much. I liked it and I know what. You mean I like it, but I think that that's where we see that push and pull, right? It's like he's still in the dress. It's still funny, but it's not constantly a punch line, right? And even like, going back to the that island, them acting as sheep, you know, which I loved, which I thought was really funny, right?

7:03 But that's the kids stuff in there. And that's what makes it fun. Yeah. All right, let's get into the finale of season 2. I really liked this episode. I thought it was a fun departure from the books because this is much more of a climactic ending. And you do kind of need to do that in ATV show format because middle grade books specifically, and you know why a books do this too. But middle grade books are the ending is really about like reflection of what happened in the book and kind of more like calmer, like ending to the story, right? It's like, OK, what did we learn? What is the lessons, that kind of thing. And so I liked that in this they understood that you, you do have to do a cliffhanger. You do have to do some type of epic thing because again, these are demigods at war, their parents, uncles, aunts, everything are at war as well. So you kind of need to show that. And I thought they did a good job of showing like, yeah, these are kids, but they are kicking ass, yeah. Yeah, I mean, kind of reflecting what you just said, it reminds me of Breaking Dawn from the from Twilight, right. Whereas in the books we were expecting the giant fight, we needed the giant fight and then the book there was no fight. OK, I want, I do want to just put this out there to listeners because we started this podcast with a Twilight property. Midnight sound, baby.

8:16 Yeah, Midnight Sound, which, oh God. And we might be going back to Twilight with the animated series, who knows? But are you pro? What happened in the book? Like, did you need a climactic thing, or did you like the kind of chess game that was going on in Bella's head? Boring. Boring, Yes. No, that's. And so my point was is that although in the move, spoiler alert, although in the movie The fight doesn't really happen, at least we get to see it, which was so fun. I did like it, but I will say that I did not mind the books interpretation. I actually kind of liked it. She was like, I'm bubbling, I'm protecting all of you.

8:56 It was very Jean Grey, right? Right. But I get what I get what you mean. Yeah, we did need something the kind of bookend the season, right? And so, you know, this episode I thought was a really fantastic finale. I think that it was, you know, we've been kind of edging along all these fights. We had some good action pieces, but this was a battle. This was a war. They had to defend the camp, you know, And so you could just see that, like you're saying, they're still demigods, though. They still have strength and power and wisdom beyond a regular, you know, human kid. I am kind of curious though, of like, and I I'm, I'm going to be rereading the books as well before like the seasons come out.

9:37 So I'm going to reread the third one. And I do know that yes, the Titan's curse. I do know that Percy grows into his power a little more and that's just the way of the book. But it is interesting that like even from the other campers, like we're not really seeing anything aside from sword fighting. And I'm not sure like that I I just find it interesting. Like, granted, yeah, they they're not going to be doing powers. They're not mutants, you know what I mean? But like there are some like, I don't know, like, oh, are we going to be showing a little more? Are we just going to be showing kids running around with swords? Well, again, I thought the action was really good, but I think at one part during it, when Percy was just getting mercilessly punched in the face by Luke, I was like, use your powers, dude.

10:21 Like, they're on Long Island. They're by the beach, baby. Yeah, I think it's right. I, I, he's going to grow into them. But it is funny to see like he got better at sword fighting, but he didn't get that much better. So like. Yeah, well, and he's only at like level like one of like, like so he could do, he could move water in a pitcher, right? And he's really good at seafaring. But he did turn the tide coordinates. He did turn the tide. But that wasn't a very special, OK, that was very special. He didn't do it. So yeah. I mean, it's just funny. It's like. So yeah, he is growing. And I was actually more impressed with his sword fighting because he's only been there for one summer. Really, right? So good on Percy, he puts on that armor and just so comes back.

11:02 With the I, I liked how this whole episode was set up because you had Clarice had gotten there before them, but our group like Tyson, Anna Beth, Grover and Percy and Sally got there after she was there and saw Blackjack. So there's this. The stakes are there of like where's Clarice? What is happening? And camp is already being attacked and you have Dionysus just singing and Tantalus making people clean up. Yeah, what is Tantalus deal? He's so dumb. I did love his ending though, because he finally was able to touch food and then immediately incinerated. It was great, which he deserved. Yeah, but that's a wrap on Tantalus. He's done. Thank. God, thank the gods. Yeah, but I, I loved having Clarice have her mission of literally running on foot, getting it to the tree and then our group trying to find her and meet up with her, but figuring out what state camp is at because they know there's a team.

11:55 As we heard from the last episode, there's a team that is there embedded in camp that's on Luke's side. So like who is part of that team or not? And that's when Claire Reese runs into Chris. Double agent. Man, this is this was tough because we know that she has some feelings for Chris and she you could see her trusting him and that might be a product of the quest. She was just on learning to accept help from other people. And she does it again. And then Chris quite literally almost stabs her in the back. I mean, slices her leg. But yeah, it's sad. It was vicious and this made me think what would have happened if Clarice did take him on the quest originally.

12:37 I'm also just like, OK, so we know there's a team, right? Not like a singular spy. Then also is like Kronos able to spy on people? Like where's the like boundary between that, right? Like Kronos obviously knows things and he can go into people's heads, but like, was Chris always somebody on Luke's side? I was a little confused of like Chris's turn. It was almost like he was too excited to have like that heel turn. But like, does he really know what's going on? Like, does he know what Luke's do? You know what I mean? Like, is he just more exciting just because like people kind of want their moment to shine? That was very or he just kind of is dumb. I don't know. I want to know his motivations. Yeah, I mean, I think that's a really good question. Obviously, there's a back story to Chris that we don't know. I mean, it seems that a lot of these kids, they are siding with Luke because they have felt scorned by their parent, their their godly parents.

13:31 I guess a lot of the people that are on Luke's side have like some of them messed up about him. Like Allison is a great example. Like she has issues. Right. Let I mean Allison. Allison, who's been 1 to get Annabeth, gets Annabeth. Well also like she says that she wants to kill Luke so like she has she's. She needs to relax. She's had. She's been on C for too long. She's lost her mind. She definitely has seaweed brain. Like, totally Seaweed Brain. And no wait, so Clarice ultimately, she she finishes her quest. Successfully. What happens to her bone crew? Well, she made that promise, and she shouldn't have. They're also already gone, so they're back in the Underworld, I'm sure.

14:12 Not an Elysium. Maybe we'll know. Sorry later on. Sorry dudes, but. Yeah, but I think the Chris thing is really interesting and I think as a viewer it was really surprising. I wasn't necessarily expecting it. And so I think that and and it's also interesting though, like, So what was he doing the entire time at camp? Just like waiting for Iris messages from Luke. Right. That's where I'm like, was he part of it? Cuz he also said we need to defend camp. And like at first I thought he wasn't on Luke's side, but then it was weird like how much he wanted to turn against Clarice. It was just very odd. Yeah, maybe he just needed to wanted to get to the front line so that he could help. Luke yeah, maybe we'll find out more next season. I'm very curious to see how much more lines in the sand are going to be drawn between these people. But I really did appreciate the shot of Clarice still injured, carrying the fleece going into the the chariot field and everything.

15:01 I thought that was a great scene. Then just seeing our our lovely trio on the chariot to save them. One Chris, zigzag like the Chariots coming at you at a straight line. Yeah, but this battle at the On the Hill was quite intense. Like you said, Annabeth gets shot right in the chest. Oh my God, Annabeth. And then she's kind of just like, I'm good. Yeah. Like, no you're not, baby. She got shot and took everybody else in the chariot down with her. That was rough. Yeah, that was rough. I mean, this, you know, really a huge chunk of this episode is kid on kid violence. Yeah. I was really surprised. Well I like that coupled with like Percy being able to do like a Clarice speech but like to the campers and Dionysus. Dionysus was just singing songs.

15:48 I love him so much. Don't ever change. But I like that he got a moment to be like, Cronus is back, this is happening. We need to defend camp and like, rallying the troops. And they all looked very young, but it almost mirrored their image of like, he's around all the campers and he's asking them to risk their lives. And it's right. It's interesting when you think of the of his dream that he kept having or his vision that he kept having where he's standing in a cabin, but he's surrounded by their bodies, right? So that's an interesting moment of what's going through Percy's head and this He's trying to rally the troops, but maybe ultimately thinking that he might be leading them to their deaths. Yeah, that's tough. It's a war, man. But. I think you know, he knows they have to defend the camp. This is their home.

16:30 If if Luke and his army get in, it's all over. Right. Which they kind of do. I mean, Luke is able to open the barrier just a little bit to let some people. And as we know, I mean, demigods can come in and out, doesn't really necessarily matter who it is, but monsters can't. So we're at this point where either cut down the tree, but Luke kind of wants to make sure Dalia isn't like hurt in the process still. So it's interesting balance between like Allison wanting to chop it down, which the axe came out of nowhere. She's ready. That's Allison. She shoots and Beth and is like here, I'm just going to chop this tree down. She would do well in Hunger Games. Oh man, right.

17:11 She would probably win. She'd. Just be killing people left and. Right. No second thoughts. No, just murder. Even if you think she's on your side, she always has an axe in her back pocket with you. I honestly thought she was going to die in the finale. I'm actually happy that she didn't because I can't wait for her to just be a menace. It's like Luke needs this angry, you know, second in command. You know, he's trying to like, keep it cool. And she's like, give me the axe or give me the arrows. You know, what's funny is that I feel like a lot of us talking about Luke isn't necessarily from a place of like, he's the villain. Like, because I think we understand Luke and we know his trajectory, or just like we can sympathize with him a little bit because the gods suck.

17:53 Where are the gods now? They're not helping at all if they care so much about their offspring, some of them, but camp half blood as being a safe space, as Zeus had said, Why aren't they helping? You're absolutely right. This is all of your children in this geographic area. You think you would care, but apparently they don't, you know, and I think that I think that's a really great thing to point out. And, and The thing is, is about Luke is that it's almost like Luke is hoping that maybe they could just like talk it out, you know, in a way, you know. Yeah, but it's funny that we we're more like Allison is the villain because we hate hurt in the best way.

18:33 She. Just shot Annabeth of the chest, you know. But maybe we can hate Luke a little more now, because like I said earlier, he pummels Percy. Well, he did a very much like Lex Luthor A1. You remember he was telling A1A1A1 that was quite intense. That scene was very intense. This whole I mean him stabbing the fleece giving I loved the spear that Clarice made in Polly famous cave still being used to save Dalia, but I thought that spear was gonna write into Allison. I was hoping. It would have. Okay, So what happens if OK, listen to this. So she throws the spear with the fleece on it. It goes through Allison, but yet the fleece is on Allison.

19:13 So it's just like who's the guy that has the Sisyphus? So it's like she keeps getting like so her life would be being stabbed, impaled, getting healed, but then still being impaled. You know what? Fair. What'd she do with the Anabeth completely? Fair 100% yeah. Then it doesn't heal Thalia, but I think a fun little fate for Allison Sims. They can just take it off real quick and then heal. Thalia, That's true. That's true. Yeah, but I loved that we got the Thalia coming back and then her screaming never and clearly is very powerful. Oh yeah. At this point I think she is a little older than them, so she's obviously been able to have her powers being used and she's she went through a lot. So absolutely.

19:54 Yeah. But that was fun seeing her just yeah, lightning bolt. Everybody out absolutely like the whole field, which is wild. And you know, it's, it's kind of interesting to think of where was she in some sort of stasis inside? This tree just immediate stasis. And just like for for however many years, just that anger was just continually brewing inside her. I think that's a really good thing to point out of the state of mind that Thalia is in in this moment. Because when we eventually get to Kyron's cabin and she comes and she sees Annabeth and she recognizes her, and she's like, you've grown up. But she's still in that state of like, I needed to protect her. And she might be relieved in that she protected her, but the last thing she knew was her father literally betraying her. Yes.

20:42 Which was wild. So let's talk about that flashback. Welcome back, Chiron. Yay. I was very upset there wasn't any party ponies. Like I know the budget needed to be there for it because to get them from like Miami up back to camp, you know, that was going to be a lot. But like, he kind of he. Just came to monologue a little bit. So yeah. So he comes to tell them that this this thing that everybody has thought about Thalia is, and that she and that Zeus, you know, honored her for protecting them by creating her as a tree is actually a lie. He says there's a prophecy and you're going to be my warrior. And she's like, I hate you, right? To. Zeus. To Zeus, right? Yeah. So I'm so Chiron is a big perpetrator of perpetuating this lie that Zeus saved Thalia.

21:30 He was there the entire time. He saw the whole thing. Zeus took out the Furies. The Furies were trying to say a message to Thalia, right? Zeus took him out. Zeus was like, no, you're there is this prophecy. So therefore you're going to be my weapon. Of course the holy is going to say no, We, she, she says to him, you're not my father. You will never be my father. I'm never going to be your weapon. It's so like, I don't know, just so assholy for these parents, these godly parents, no matter who they are. I guess this is part of their hubris, but like is just assuming that they're going to honor them because they're their parents when you just abandoned them, the life that Thalia did and everything. It's like, you can't just come in and be like, by the way, you're going to fight for me.

22:12 No thanks. Yeah, I mean, come on, these the gods have just for eons been complete pieces of shit, and not only to their children, but all of humanity. So it's just like, it is interesting. What the hell are they doing right? Well, they're this is where it's funny, right? Because like in my mind, I'm like, would it would be interesting if more of the God slash parents were involved in this? But also you have to think they're preparing for their own war. As we see in this like dream vision that Percy has, which we'll get into, they're preparing for their own type of war. So it's like they're not really paying attention to them, which is so dumb because if they, I don't know, want their children demigods on their side, you would think they'd pay more attention to them.

22:53 Yeah. And so when their children don't do their bidding, they punish them and turn them into a tree. Yeah, and he was like, OK, I'm just going to let you be a tree for a little bit, and then when I need you, I'll wake you back up. And he was like, Chiron don't tell bye guys which like. Damn Chiron like well. What is he supposed to? Do I know? No, I know. I thought the same thing, but it's Zeus. Yeah, I'm not blaming him, but I'm also like. One lightning bolt or me. Well, and and let's take a note that we have Courtney B Vance playing Zeus here. Now I wish we could have gotten more of him, but you know from what I saw, two thumbs up. Yeah, I think I did a good job, Lance Reddick, which I mean, God amongst gods, you know, and character portrayal.

23:35 And I think they did a fantastic job of picking up that torch for Zeus because in this moment, like, man, blame Zeus like that. That was like on the set and everything for the filming of this. And it's like, yeah, blame, blame Zeus for a lot of stuff that's happening. Like, you know, it's one thing to be like, oh, these parents suck, but to purposely do something like that, that's just, that's evil. Yeah, and if you think about it like, so you want her to be your warrior, you want her to be your weapon. So then. So then what do you do? Turn her into. A tree. And then what? Do you know what I mean? What is the plan from there? All right, forget it. How weird, right? There's a prophecy and you're like, oh, well, don't do my bidding. Yeah.

24:15 I mean, they have terrible tempers and obviously aren't good at making decisions. One other thing that I was thinking about that I thought was really sad was that, you know, when the initial casting came out, obviously we had Athena in this season. And it made me sad to think back that it wasn't actually Athena, but it was actually the visit, the vision. Yeah. But when we, I mean, I do like that we did get to see Contra Day as Athena though, yeah. I just felt bad. I just feel bad for Annabeth. Right, Right. You know, And I you, you know, when you see, like, there's a God cast in this, you think, oh, there's gonna be some sort of reunion and she's finally gonna get to see her mom. But. Nobody but Percy has had a nice reunion so far with their parents. And they had another lovely one. Yeah.

24:55 Well, I do. OK, so when Percy does get knocked out from Thalia, he has a dream meeting with his father. And I, I thought it was really sweet for his father to be a little more warm to Percy and a little more open and understanding of like he might not fully like that you're keep disappearing, but I think they're coming to some sort of understanding. And we I think we do get one of the sweetest emotional, emotional moments of the season with Tyson and Percy. I love that you can invite people into your dream meetings, which is fantastic. I was, yeah, I was trying to figure out or like, is it again, like this thing of where Percy or Annabeth, like if you're almost dead, you can kind of like go between.

25:37 I think his father did it. I think this is like a divine messaging type thing, just because it was very much like by the water and his father was running it type of thing and he already talked to Tyson. That's true. And it is really funny. You know, when you compare like Poseidon in the books was always wearing like a Hawaiian shirt. And this version of Poseidon is like always wearing like a sailor's. Peacoat. He's like a fisherman. Yes, exactly. Which is like. Felt like AJ crew fisherman. Yeah. Not like he's going, you know, like. Crab hunting, arguably hotter. Just. Hey, Hawaiian shirts could be hot, but fisherman much hotter. No, I know he's on the scale. Handsome. Handsome. But so I the emotional moment between Tyson and Percy was really, really sweet because Tyson saying, you know, when I was on the streets, I kept praying or a friend and I got a brother and I was like, stop, stop it.

26:26 You were already in the MVP of the season. You didn't need to go that hard into my emotional heart. And you did. Yeah, I love Tyson. And he's going to go with his dad, going to be helping them build stuff for the war that's coming, which is very much like, unfortunately, as a rap on Tyson for a little bit. But it's good to know that he's going to go somewhere where he's useful and can be around family. He's going to his happy place in a way, and I think that because that's what he loves to do. Yeah, camp just wasn't for him. No, he loves to build. He loves to create. And you know, he just was such a true ally to Percy through this entire thing. It, you know, we never questioned any of his motives. I loved seeing, you know, I think back to him throwing Polyphemus off the Cliff and and saving Anna Beth in that moment.

27:12 I loved in this episode, he stops Luke from chopping Percy's head off with his Trident. And then he's like, all right, I have my brother, I have my father. I'm going to go work. Yeah, I can't wait to see Poseidon's domain, which we will later later, but that's going to be really fun. It's. Going to be very Atlantis. You think I, I'm, I'm curious to see what, how they're going to interpret it, but I, I think having Tyson have this little send off before we see him again two years if we get season 4, I know it's, it's I, I am hoping though, that because I think Clarice and Tyson were such big hits for this season and I think fans and everybody was really drawn to them that I'm hoping maybe they'll find a way to bring them into the next season or make them more involved.

27:59 Specifically Clarice, because I think Clarice for me was probably my favorite character for this entire season just straight through. I love Tyson, but Clarice I just amazing, just amazing. I think that, and especially for Dior, Dior good John, I think that she had a lot more work to do than Daniel Deemer as far as the emotional stakes that were involved in this. And she sold it. She. Absolutely sold it while giving face the entire time. But I just love the strength that she brings to Clarice and it's not a strength and egotistical strength, it's a passionate strength and I think that she really delivers that well while also giving also giving her those softer moments. So I agree she was really a standout. And she finished the question, so yay for her. Yay for her 100%.

28:43 Okay, anything of the episode as a whole before we get to like the ending and credits that you want to point out, I will say like them showing up and like like, I don't know, like vans that you see around like a studio lot to go to war was like very silly. I was like, OK. Like the horses? Sure. I wear Sally. Oh, I did. I did love that they showed that Sally can see through the mist a little bit. I love that. That's a call back to like later, later, later books. But I like that they're still giving some of the book readers some of those things and. She's a little magic. When it goes in the whole thing of like these gods picking people when they have kids for a specific reason and Sally being able to see through the mist is probably one of the checklists.

29:27 Oh, we didn't decide and say something like that. Like there's something like love. It's love, OK. And then you'd leave her right? It's not just love. Love. It's like sort of like something. But yeah, I just, I just feel for Sally, you know, she came, she picked them up and she's like kind of. OK, have fun. Right. It's like she drops them off. She's like what? OK, but who is black? OK, bye guys. I guess. Good. Luck don't die. It's like. Remember that dream you had? Turns out I have another enemy. I did really like so Percy and her have a conversation of like being this like of the same coin to different sides of the same coin between Thalia and Percy. And I love the moment when Thalia does explode with our lightning that you see Percy and Thalia both falling the same way.

30:13 So going into Season 3, it's going to be very much little, little friction between Thalia and Percy a little bit. Absolutely. And then we get into our kind of final scene here, right? It's Annabeth goes to her, so Percy's like what the? Hell, and if I remember correctly, like in the car ride leading up there, like you hear Annabeth being so excited for it and almost like on the side of like, she's not gonna like do the prophecy or whatever, but she's not sure about Percy. And Percy hearing that is gonna be it's gonna mess with his head a little bit. Yeah, absolutely. She's so sure about Thalia and she's not sure about Percy. And Percy has literally risked his life with her for two years now.

30:55 Absolutely. So it's I can see that it's gonna be a big form of tension between them. And I love how Grover's just in the middle of both sides. Yeah, he's like, I'm going to go look for Pan again. Yeah, got to go. Bye. But I think that this is this is definitely a cliffhanger. I think that there are a lot of question marks around what is going to happen to the trio. What is going to happen between Percy and Annabeth? Where does Thalia fit into this entire thing? Is she a big bad for Percy? What's going to happen? So I think as far as a Season 2 ending, I think it kind of laid the groundwork of giving us a lot of questions that hopefully, hopefully will get answered, yeah. All right, going into the end credits scenes, so there's 21 is like in the middle of the credits, which I did very much appreciate because we always sit through those credits because they're gorgeous.

31:41 They're gorgeous. They're so pretty. I can't wait for season threes. But so we see Annabeth and Percy and in in the books, we know this is Westover Hall. So this is like a Military Academy. They're there for a specific reason, which I will not divulge because people need to experience that. But I Grover and tholly are there somewhere as well. But I loved that this is the one scene that they show from it because this is like the only time that Annabeth and Percy are together and like that entire story. So it's like 1 screw you for doing that, but also like it was just like a sweet moment. And this is when the books really, like, they're feelings become a little more heavy.

32:24 And you can see that in the scene alone with just Annabeth taking his hand and like, OK, we're going to go dance. Which was nice to see her do that, you know, because Percy's still a little like, I don't know what to do with these feelings. Yeah, he's like 31 N what's happening? But it's it was such a good tease and then we're getting Season 3 this year. This year, do you think they're doing December again? Yeah, yeah, yeah. I think it was all icy. That's, you know, a very good point. And I think give them time, like it's better to give them time for it than to like come out in the summer. Like that would be odd. And last season 1 we got during the same time. So I think it's going to be a very much like, OK, if they get renewed for season 4, they're going to start filming this summer.

33:07 By the time Season 3 comes out, they're going to be wrapping, maybe filming, starting production. So I'm hoping that's your trajectory that we're going on. It would be good rhythm for them to be on. And then we have we're back at CC's Spa and of course they have erected beautiful statues of Percy and Annabeth, who she helped leave. I hate. Her and I love her so much. Yes, take credit for it. I love. It she's such a con artist. But we got, we got her answer of like what happens to Cersei's resort and Spa after what happened, you know, after Blackbeard was awakened and they got away and we got our answer that life goes on and it's still the same.

Right, because she had to cover her ass of like why these two that just showed up were able to skip the sirens? And what happened to the pirates? I did read somewhere saying that like they thought it was fun way to end the season with that to illustrate, like, you know, outside of Percy, things happen, you know, and it's like it's a good book ending for it. But they had that scene and they were thinking of putting it at the end of season or episode 5, I believe. But they were like, just put it like we have this thing. Let's just put it at the end of the. Season. I liked it as this kind of little like wink at the end of the season. I thought it was really fun, which she actually really does wink at the camera.

34:34 But like aside from that, it's nothing I wouldn't think to like look more into it. Absolutely. Not, I think it was just a little wink, wink, nudge, nudge. She's still doing her thing. I guess like, you know, it could be like Heroes of Olympus type thing because Hiller was still there. So it's like maybe don't lose hope that we might get extended stuff adapted. But you know, I could see them maybe doing an animated part. I don't mind animated spin off some things, just saying. That would be cool, yeah. Oh OK, another season in the books. That was fun. I'm going to miss being in Percy's Percy's world. Yeah, I was just going to say we're we're leaving Percy's world. And I really think that this was a strong season 2.
